Figure Drawing Primer — Beginner Friendly
Curious about figure drawing or life drawing, but not sure where to start? This class is for you.
Join us at The Brick Store for a relaxed, welcoming 2.5-hour figure drawing primer designed especially for beginners (and anyone wanting a refresher). We’ll work from a live, clothed model and focus on learning how to see the figure rather than worrying about making a “perfect” drawing.
This is a low-pressure, art-school-style session — messy drawings encouraged.
What we’ll cover:
• Gesture drawing (capturing movement and energy)
• Simple proportions and structure
• How to begin a figure drawing with confidence
• Drawing clothing on the body
• Building comfort drawing people
No experience required. If you can hold a pencil, you belong here.
This class stands beautifully on its own as a complete learning experience — and it’s also a wonderful way to build confidence before attending our open figure drawing sessions at The Brick Store. You’ll leave feeling more comfortable drawing alongside others and understanding how to begin.
